Caleb Holt leads Prolific Prep to huge win in Hopkinsville
This week’s Grind Session Spotlight Athlete shines on one of the most complete and accomplished prospects in high school basketball: Caleb Holt of Prolific Prep (Fort Lauderdale, Florida). Born on November 26, 2007, Holt’s path to the national spotlight began early in New Market, Alabama. His talent was evident long before high school, and as an eighth grader at Buckhorn Middle School, Holt earned a rare varsity starting role at Buckhorn High School, where he averaged 16 points and 8.5 rebounds per game against older competition.
The Grind Session Christian County stop wrapped up a full week of high-level prep basketball in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, as elite programs from across the United States and Canada competed from Tuesday, December 9, through Sunday, December 14. The event featured Power and Elevation Conference matchups, nationally ranked talent, and several statement performances that helped shape the Grind Session landscape heading into the holiday break.
Grind Session newcomer Caleb Holt had another impressive performance at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup on Wednesday. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard, who recently transferred to Prolific Prep for his senior season, was dominant on both ends, helping lead Team USA to a convincing 140-67 Round of 16 win over Jordan.
Holt scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds, and notched four steals in the victory. He also dished out five assists and logged a team high 25 minutes in the game.
The Prolific Prep star has had his two best performances of the tournament in Team USA's last two games. Tuesday, Holt scored 18 points, collected eight rebounds, and had three steals in a 129-70 win over Cameroon.
The 2025 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup tipped off over the weekend in Lausanne, Switzerland and the competition is loaded with an impressive lineup of Grind Session talent.
