The Grind Session has announced its postseason award winners, recognizing some of the top players and coaches from an outstanding season of prep basketball competition. The postseason awards highlight the talent, depth, and competitiveness that continue to make the Grind Session one of the premier prep basketball platforms in the country.
Coach of the Year
Leading the list of honorees is Academy of Central Florida head coach Marcus Wilson, who was named Coach of the Year after guiding his program through an impressive season against elite national competition.
Most Valuable Player
The league’s Most Valuable Player award goes to Caleb Holt of Prolific Prep. The senior McDonald’s All-American was one of the most dominant players in the Grind Session this season, showcasing the all-around talent and leadership that helped keep Prolific Prep among the nation’s top programs.
Defensive Player of the Year
On the defensive end, Marcis Ponder of Gillion Academy earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. The senior made his mark with toughness, intensity, and a consistent ability to disrupt opposing offenses.
Offensive Player of the Year
The Offensive Player of the Year award was claimed by Beckham Black of Southeastern Prep Academy. The junior point guard stood out all season with his scoring ability, playmaking, and command of the offense.
Most Improved Player
Eli Jolin of Ft. Erie International Academy was selected as the Most Improved Player. The senior’s development and impact throughout the season made him one of the most deserving players of the honor.
Underclassman of the Year
The Underclassman of the Year is Kenyon St. Louis of Winston Salem Christian. The sophomore point guard emerged as one of the top young talents in the Grind Session, showing poise, skill, and a bright future ahead.
Under the Radar
Rounding out the awards is Nathan Kirk of DME Academy, who was voted the Under the Radar winner. The senior point guard earned the respect of his peers for his strong play and steady presence throughout the season.
