Q: You’re a graduating senior and recently committed to playing college hoops next year at Iona University, what went into that final decision and what was your recruiting experience like?

A: What went into my decision to committing to Iona was the environment. As soon as I stepped on campus it felt right. I also loved the way Coach Geriot and his staff run things at Iona. The Plan they have for you puts you on a path to do great things. Being given the opportunity to come and compete at the Division 1 level is just great. 

Q: What are you going to miss most about DME Academy?

Owensboro Kentucky
The Grind Session semifinals are set for March 21-22 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Four prep powers, all from the state of Florida, will battle in the Bluegrass State for Grind Session supremacy.
The Grind Session has announced its 2025-2026 postseason award winners, recognizing some of the top players and coaches from an outstanding season of prep basketball competition. The postseason awards highlight the talent, depth, and competitiveness that continue to make the Grind Session one of the premier prep basketball platforms in the country.
Dallas Texas
Saturday at Nolan Catholic High School delivered a full slate of competitive matchups as Grind Session Dallas continued with seven games featuring programs from across the country and abroad. From last-second drama to dominant individual performances, Day 2 provided plenty of storylines heading into the Sunday finale.
Owensboro Kentucky
Owensboro, Kentucky — Saturday night at the Owensboro Sportscenter delivered two compelling matchups as Grind Session programs and national contenders continued their mid-season push. Fans were treated to a dominant performance in the opener and a dramatic comeback battle in the nightcap.
Atlanta Georgia
Day 2 of the Grind Session Atlanta stop brought high-level battles, breakout performances, and one of the wildest finishes of the season. Four Power Conference matchups and two Elevation Conference games kept the action rolling from morning to night, highlighted by elite guard play, dominant rebounding efforts, and a controversial ending that will be talked about for weeks.
Salt Lake City Utah
The final day of quarterfinals action in the Grind Session delivered amazing basketball as four teams punched their tickets to the Final Four in Lawrence, Kansas Ft. Erie International, DME Academy, Prolific Prep and Utah Prep Academy. Here’s a recap of the thrilling matchups that determined who will continue their championship pursuit.
Louisville KY
The local Louisville basketball fans packed the gym tonight to see the newest commit to coach Pat Kelsey’s team Mikel Brown Jr. play in the Grind Session event in Louisville.  Brown's DME Academy team from Daytona Beach Florida took on West Oaks Academy and beat them 73-63. Brown and his teammate Nathan Kirk each put in 25 points in the victory with Trey Simpson III getting a double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Grind Session is the first-ever winter circuit of elite high school basketball events. In past seasons, our teams have played in some of the greatest and most unique cities across the U.S., as well as Canada, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico. From November to March over 400 action-packed games will be played. Grind Session is more than just great games: it's an opportunity to prepare for the next chapter of your basketball career.
