The game, which will take place on April 1st at the Barclays Center in New York, will feature Grind Session players AJ Dybantsa, Daryn Peterson, Mikel Brown Jr., and Niko Bundalo, showcasing their talents on a national stage.

The anticipation was palpable as two of the elite teams of the Grind Session, Prolific Prep and Dream City Christian, took to the floor for a highly anticipated power conference game. Fans and scouts alike gathered to witness the showdown at Contra Costa College, where the skill and athleticism on display promised an unforgettable evening of high school basketball.

The excitement was palpable at Contra Costa College tonight as the Crush in the Valley event delivered a thrilling game between Rosemary Anderson and Prolific Prep Green. The standout player of the night was none other than Hunter Carter, who earned the MVP title in the first game of the Grind Session's Crush in the Valley event. Carter's impressive performance, marked by 20 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal, was instrumental in leading his team to an 85-68 victory over Prolific Prep Green.

In an electrifying matchup at the Grind Session, Albuquerque Prep secured a nail-biting victory over Rosemary Anderson with a final score of 81-80. The game, filled with intense back-and-forth action, reached its climax in the final seconds, thanks to the heroic efforts of Christian Gilliland.

The 10th annual Grind Session Crush in the Valley showcase returns to Contra Costa College this weekend from Friday through Sunday.

The three-day event will feature 24 teams from four states, 17 games, and an impressive list of Top 100-rated prospects in the ’25, ‘26’ and ’27 classes.

Colorado Prep vs. Skyline Prep

The morning match saw Colorado Prep bounce back impressively from a rough outing the previous day. They defeated Skyline Prep 69-61 in a tightly contested game. Ulysses Webb and Josiah Sanders each scored 18 points, leading their team to victory. Abdallah Dia added strength to the victory, notching a double-double with 10 points and an impressive 15 rebounds. In a losing effort for Skyline, Josh Powell led the team with 17 points, followed closely by Jaylon Johnson, who contributed 14 points.

DME Academy 73, West Oaks 63

The local Louisville basketball fans packed the gym tonight to see the newest commit to coach Pat Kelsey’s team Mikel Brown Jr. play in the Grind Session event in Louisville.  Brown's DME Sports Academy team from Daytona Beach Florida took on West Oaks Academy and beat them 73-63. Brown and his teammate Nathan Kirk each put in 25 points in the victory with Trey Simpson III getting a double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

In a dramatic and unexpected announcement on New Year’s Day, Louisville took the spotlight not just on the court but off it as well. With the Cardinals leading North Carolina at the under-eight media timeout of the first half at the KFC Yum! Center, the program delivered a game-changing revelation: Five-star point guard Mikel Brown Jr. had committed to Louisville.

To the delight of the crowd, Brown stepped onto the court to be introduced, solidifying his place as the first five-star recruit to join new head coach Pat Kelsey’s program. The moment marked a significant milestone for Louisville basketball, signaling the start of what many hope will be a new era of excellence under Kelsey’s leadership.

The Grind Session is hosting a four-day showcase at Fern Creek High School in Louisville this week, from Thursday through Sunday.

The event will feature 27 teams from 14 states and Canada, 26 games, and an impressive list of some of the nation’s Top 100 boys and girls prospects in the ’25, ’26, and ‘27 classes. It opens with three games on Thursday, continues with eight games on Friday and 11 games on Saturday, and concludes with four games on Sunday

In past seasons, our teams have played in some of the greatest and most unique cities across the U.S., as well as Canada, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico. From November to March over 400 action-packed games will be played. Grind Session is more than just great games: it's an opportunity to prepare for the next chapter of your basketball career.
