Hopkinsville, Kentucky — Grind Session Christian County
Winston-Salem Christian responded in a big way Friday night, bouncing back from a tough loss earlier in the week to earn a 98–89 victory over Ridley College at Grind Session Christian County in Hopkinsville.
After a difficult outing Thursday afternoon against nationally ranked Prolific Prep, head coach Antonio Lowe challenged his group to reset and respond — and senior guard Kenyon St. Louis delivered exactly that.
St. Louis set the tone from the opening tip, leading Winston-Salem with a high-energy performance that fueled the team’s fast-paced attack. He consistently knocked down three-point shots and pushed the tempo in transition, igniting the Winston-Salem fast break and keeping Ridley on its heels throughout the night.
Nicholas McLean provided strong support alongside St. Louis, pouring in 27 points and giving Winston-Salem a reliable second scoring option. Together, the duo controlled the game offensively as Winston-Salem played with confidence and urgency on both ends of the floor.
Ridley College stayed competitive behind a balanced scoring effort that saw four players reach double figures. Caleb Roberts led the Canadian squad with 23 points and eight rebounds, anchoring Ridley’s offense and keeping them within striking distance late into the game. Despite the balanced production, Ridley was unable to overcome Winston-Salem’s pace and perimeter shooting.
With the win, Winston-Salem closes out its run at the Grind Session Christian County event and will head home for the Christmas holiday with momentum heading into the break.
Ridley College will remain in Hopkinsville and look to rebound Sunday morning when they take on Academy of Central Florida.
