Day 2 of Grind Session Toronto delivered another full slate of competitive matchups featuring international programs, rising young stars, and standout individual performances. From wire-to-wire battles to dominant displays on the glass, Saturday’s action showcased why the Grind Session remains one of the premier platforms for prep basketball talent. Here’s a full breakdown from the Pan Am Centre.

Game 1: Star Alliance 74, iSchool 64

Star Alliance opened Day 2 with a strong showing, powered by a commanding performance on the boards and another standout outing from star forward Ricards Aizpurs.
Aizpurs led all scorers with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists, consistently making winning plays on both ends. Fallou Sow added 11 points and 6 boards, helping Star Alliance dominate the rebounding battle 54–32.

iSchool competed well behind three double-figure scorers, including Mike Banks (15 points), Ayden McClinton (14), and Parker Bolden (10), but could never overcome the interior advantage of the Italian side.

Star Alliance closes their weekend against host Royal Crown tomorrow at 4 p.m. iSchool finishes the event 0–2 and heads home.

Game 2: Mt. Zion Prep — DNA Prep

Mt. Zion Prep wrapped up their weekend with a strong win behind balanced, efficient scoring from their top guards.
Jacob Canton put together a complete performance with 23 points and 7 rebounds, while Zion Green nearly matched him, posting 19 points and 8 boards.

Mt. Zion controlled the paint and the glass, winning the rebound battle 40–32.

DNA Prep kept things competitive thanks to a big outing from Shameek Casillas, who finished with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Jayden Robinson added 15 points, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace late.

DNA Prep returns to action tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. vs. Ft. Erie. Mt. Zion heads home after closing their weekend 1–1.

Game 3 (Women): Legion Prep 64, Ft. Erie 51

Two elite women’s programs squared off in the afternoon session, with Legion Prep taking control behind a dominant performance from USA Basketball gold medalist Jacy Abii.

Abii was unstoppable, posting 22 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, once again showing the upside that has made her one of the most respected young forwards in North America.

Teammates Jaidyn Gunter and Kamora Pruitt each chipped in 14 points, giving Legion Prep three players in double figures.

Ft. Erie was led by sophomore standout Portia Reisen, who scored 14 points while battling constant defensive pressure.

Legion Prep heads home, while Ft. Erie returns to the floor tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. against Example Academy.

Game 4 (Women): Royal Crown 81, Example Academy 73

Host Royal Crown protected home court in one of the most competitive games of the day, pulling away late for an 81–73 win over Example Academy.

Chance Berry was spectacular, finishing with 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, controlling the game down the stretch and providing the energy boost Royal Crown needed.

Royal Crown will take on Albuquerque Prep tomorrow at 10:45 a.m. Example Academy faces Ft. Erie at 12:30 p.m.

Game 5: SEPA 74, Royal Crown 67

The final game of Day 2 brought fireworks, as SEPA closed out the night with a high-level team performance led by Beckham Black, who flirted with a triple-double.

Black posted 21 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds, controlling the game as a scorer, facilitator, and rebounding guard.
Marri Wesley added 14 points and 9 boards, while CJ Rossi Jr. contributed 11 points in the win.

Royal Crown had strong moments behind Andy Gemao (17 points) and Caleb Zhu (12 points), but SEPA’s offensive balance proved too much.

SEPA will now head home, while Royal Crown returns to action tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Star Alliance in the event finale.
