Grind Session Stars Lead Team West to McDonald’s All-American Game Victory

Four of the Grind Session’s biggest stars of this past season showcased their skills in front of a national audience Tuesday in the 2025 McDonald's All-American Game, leading the West team to a 105-92 victory over the East. Darryn Peterson, AJ Dybantsa, Niko Bundalo, and Mikel Brown, Jr. score nearly half of the team’s points in 105–92 victory.

Prolific Prep’s Darryn Peterson Will Finish as the No. 1-Ranked Player in the 2025 Class After Top-Spot Swap in Final Rankings

247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein announced Wednesday that Prolific Prep’s Darryn Peterson will finish as the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2025 when the final rankings come out in May. The Kansas commit will jump fellow Grind Session standout and Utah Prep star AJ Dybantsa for the top spot. 

Dybantsa has held the No. 1 ranking ever since he reclassified from the 2026 class back in October 2023.

Grind Session Kicks Off 11th Season in Denver, Colorado: November 1-3rd

Grind Session is back for its highly anticipated 11th season, and it all begins November 1-3rd in Denver, Colorado. Hosted at Manual High School, this opening weekend will feature an exciting lineup of matchups from some of the top high school basketball teams in the country. The Power Conference teams, which represent the elite of Grind Session, will be showcased in a series of can't-miss games.

The event will also feature four girls' games from the Revolution Conference, bringing high-level women's basketball to the forefront.

Held at Manual High School, the event features both men’s and women’s teams showcasing elite talent, with performances that reminded everyone why this circuit is the premier stage for up-and-coming basketball stars. Orangeville Prep vs. DNA Prep
Orangeville Prep edged out DNA Prep with a close 72-71 victory in the first game of the day at the Pan American Center in Toronto, Canada. Noah D’Acre led Orangeville with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. Isaac Kenney contributed 11 points, 6 rebounds, and a steal. For DNA Prep, Jayden Robinson was the standout performer with 27 points. Both teams are part of the Evolution Conference of the Grind Session.

AJ Dybantsa Chooses BYU, Shocking the College Basketball World

In a groundbreaking decision, AJ Dybantsa, the standout player for Utah Prep and a projected No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, announced his commitment to BYU this morning on ESPN. Dybantsa chose the Cougars over basketball powerhouses Alabama, North Carolina, and Kansas, citing a desire for a family-oriented program with NBA-experienced coaching.

"I was looking for a program that felt like home," Dybantsa said during his announcement. "BYU's coaching staff has the NBA experience I need to grow as a player, and the atmosphere here is unmatched."

In past seasons, our teams have played in some of the greatest and most unique cities across the U.S., as well as Canada, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico. From November to March over 400 action-packed games will be played. Grind Session is more than just great games: it's an opportunity to prepare for the next chapter of your basketball career.
