Atlanta Georgia
By: Rick Manahan

The final day of Grind Session Atlanta delivered a fast-paced slate of games across both the Power and Elevation Conferences, highlighted by strong offensive showings, deep scoring contributions, and a handful of standout individual performances that capped off an exciting weekend of basketball in Georgia.

Power Conference: DME Academy Overpowers Hamilton Heights 101–79

The lone Power Conference matchup of the day did not disappoint.

DME Sports Academy put together one of the most balanced scoring efforts of the season, defeating Hamilton Heights Christian 101–79 behind seven players reaching double figures. The depth and efficiency of DME’s rotation were on full display as they controlled the game from start to finish.

Top Performers – DME Sports Academy

  • PJ Birmingham – 15 points (team-high)
  • Heimir Helgason – 12 points, 13 rebounds (dominant double-double)
  • Seven players in double digits, showcasing DME’s strong team chemistry and ball movement

Helgason’s work on the glass set the tone early, while Birmingham and the supporting cast repeatedly broke down Hamilton Heights Christian's defense with pace and precision.

Hamilton Heights was paced by BJ Bradford, who delivered an impressive 25-point performance despite the loss. His shot-making kept Hamilton Heights within striking distance early, but DME’s depth eventually proved too much.

Elevation Conference: Two Tight Battles to Finish the Weekend

The Elevation Conference wrapped up its Atlanta slate with two competitive matchups, each decided in the closing moments.

Balboa School 80, Wilson Academy 76

American Collegiate Academy's Balboa School battled wire-to-wire with The Wilson Academy in a tense four-point victory. With both teams trading leads throughout the second half, Balboa came up with key defensive stops down the stretch to secure the win.

Their late-game execution and composure allowed them to hold off a determined Wilson squad that refused to fade.

Florida Coastal Prep 74, IX International Academy 68

In another close contest, Florida Coastal Prep outlasted IX International Academy 74–68. Florida Coastal’s defensive intensity and timely scoring allowed them to pull away in the final minutes, closing out their weekend on a high note.

IX International pushed the pace and kept the pressure on, but Florida Coastal’s late-game poise made the difference.

Closing Thoughts

The final day of Grind Session Atlanta showcased:
